The collaboration
Six steps from first call to measurable change
- 01Week 0
Free intro session
30 minutes, free. We discuss your level, your goals and how you practise today, and decide together if coaching fits.
- 02Week 1
Baseline assessment
Video review plus a short set of scored test drills. This gives us real numbers to start from, not impressions.
- 03Week 1
Goal setting
We turn your ambition into one main goal and two or three measurable targets, each tied to a drill and a deadline.
- 04Weeks 2–5
Targeted coaching blocks
One skill per block, with specific drills, technical cues and session structure built around your weakest link.
- 05Every 2 weeks
Check-ins & adjustments
You send your scores and a short clip. We adjust the plan based on what the numbers show.
- 06Week 6
Retest & next goal
Same tests as the baseline. You see the change in your own numbers, then we set the next target.
Goal setting
From a wish to a target you can test
Most players set goals that can't be practised. We break every ambition down until it becomes a number, a habit and a deadline.
1. Ambition
"I want to run out more racks."
Motivating, but impossible to practise directly.
2. Main goal
Improve position play in 9-ball patterns.
Names the skill that limits the ambition.
3. Measurable target
Raise the tangent-line drill score from 4/10 to 7/10.
A number you can test and retest.
4. Process habit
15 minutes of speed control drills, 4 sessions a week.
What you actually do. This is what you control.
5. Deadline & retest
Retest in 6 weeks under the same conditions.
Removes guesswork about whether it worked.
How progress is tracked
Every target gets a chart
Scores are logged after each block. Plateaus are expected; they tell us when to change the drill, the cue or the volume. The retest shows whether the target was reached.
Illustrative example of the tracking format, not a client result.
Why it works
Practising alone vs. coached practice
| Aspect | Practising alone | With Cueing Academy |
|---|---|---|
| Practice focus | Whatever feels off today | One prioritised skill per block |
| Feedback | Results only (made / missed) | Cause of the miss: stroke, aim, speed or decision |
| Measurement | Rarely tracked | Scored drills, baseline and retest |
| Plan | Improvised | Written plan with drills and targets |
| Adjustment | Trial and error | Reviewed every two weeks from your data |
| Accountability | None | Scheduled check-ins and deadlines |
Questions
Before you book
Is the 30-minute intro session really free?
Yes. One free 30-minute session per new player, with no payment details and no obligation to continue.
Do I need to be an advanced player?
No. The process works at every level because goals are set from your own baseline, not from someone else's standard.
How are goals chosen?
From your baseline test scores and what you tell us matters most. We pick the skill that limits you the most and make it measurable.
What happens if I don't hit a target?
We look at the data, find what blocked progress, and adjust the drills, the volume or the target itself. Missing a target is information, not failure.
Is coaching done remotely?
Yes. Coaching runs through video analysis, written plans and scheduled check-ins, so you can train from any table in the world.
