Closed bridge
Also called: Loop bridge
What is a closed bridge in pool?
A closed bridge wraps the index finger over the cue to form a loop, with the cue also resting against the middle finger and thumb. It locks the cue in place sideways and is popular for power shots, follow and breaking.
In more detail
The loop should be snug but not tight: the cue must slide freely. If the closed bridge makes you steer or grab, switch to an open bridge — consistency beats style.
People also ask
Is a closed bridge more accurate?
It is more stable laterally, but accuracy comes from a straight stroke. Many top players use both depending on the shot.
