Drag shot
Also called: Drag draw
What is a drag shot in pool?
A drag shot is a low-tip shot hit firmly enough to carry the cue ball a long way, but timed so the backspin wears off on the way. The cue ball arrives with little or no spin, giving you stop or stun at long distance at lower speed.
In more detail
It is useful on slow cloth or when a ball sits near a pocket and a fast shot might bounce out. It also makes a long cue ball path less sensitive to roll-off.
People also ask
Why use a drag shot instead of hitting softly?
A slow rolling cue ball wanders on imperfect cloth. A drag shot slides the ball most of the way, staying on line.
