Double hit
What is a double hit in pool?
A double hit is when the cue tip contacts the cue ball more than once in a stroke. It is a foul and most often happens when the cue ball is very close to or frozen against an object ball.
In more detail
On close shots, elevate the cue slightly and cut the object ball, or play away from it, to avoid touching the cue ball twice.
People also ask
How do referees spot a double hit?
Often by the cue ball's path: on close shots it follows through too far in the direction of the stroke.
