Stun shot
Also called: Stun
What is a stun shot in pool?
A stun shot hits the object ball with a sliding cue ball (no topspin or backspin). On a straight shot that is a stop shot; on a cut shot the cue ball leaves along the tangent line at 90° to the object ball's path.
In more detail
Stun is the most predictable cue-ball path because spin is removed. Players use it to control angles precisely and to move the cue ball sideways without traveling too far forward or back.
People also ask
What angle does the cue ball go with stun?
Along the tangent line — perpendicular to the line the object ball travels. Speed changes distance, not direction.
