Success rate
Also called: Make percentage, Pass standard
How do you measure progress in pool?
Success rate is the percentage of attempts you complete in a drill, for example 7 of 10 stop shots. Tracking it over time is the most reliable way to measure progress in pool, far better than 'feel'.
In more detail
Use fixed setups, record each session, and look at trends over weeks, not single days. A good drill has a pass standard that you hit about 60–80% of the time.
People also ask
What success rate should I aim for?
Train at a difficulty where you succeed around 60–80% of the time. Easier wastes time; harder discourages and reinforces misses.
