What is swerve in pool?
Swerve is the curve of the cue ball caused by sidespin when the cue is not perfectly level. It bends the cue ball back in the direction of the english, partly cancelling squirt, and grows with elevation and slower speed.
In more detail
Squirt pushes the cue ball away from the english, swerve brings it back. The overall result depends on distance and speed — the basis of aiming adjustments with english.
