Break and run

Also called: B&R

What is a break and run in pool?

A break and run is winning a rack by pocketing a ball on the break and then running out every remaining ball without your opponent taking a shot. It is a standard performance measure for strong players.

In more detail

In 9-ball, top players aim for frequent break and runs. For club players, tracking break-and-run attempts in practice is a clear, honest progress number.

People also ask

What is a good break and run percentage?

It depends heavily on the table and game. Track your own baseline over 20 racks and try to improve it.
