Center ball
Also called: Center hit
What does hitting center ball mean in pool?
Center ball means striking the cue ball exactly in its middle, with no side spin. It is the reference for every other tip position and the safest way to pot because it removes squirt, swerve and spin-induced throw.
In more detail
Most players think they hit center but are a few millimetres off. Test with a straight stroke down the length of the table: a true center hit returns along the same line.
People also ask

Shoot the cue ball over the head and foot spots to the far rail. If it comes back over the same spots, you hit center.
