Frozen ball
Also called: Frozen, Frozen combination
What does frozen mean in pool?
A ball is frozen when it touches another ball or a cushion. Frozen combinations and frozen rail shots behave differently from normal shots because of throw and cushion contact.
In more detail
Two frozen object balls pointed near a pocket can often be thrown in even when they are not lined up, by hitting the first ball on the appropriate side. Frozen-to-rail shots require hitting the rail and ball nearly together.
People also ask
Is a ball frozen to the rail safe from a foul?
Rules vary: some require that after contact a ball reaches a rail, and a frozen ball does not count unless driven to another rail. Check the event rules.
