Kiss
Also called: Kiss shot, Double kiss
What is a kiss in pool?
A kiss is a contact between balls during a shot — sometimes intended, as in a kiss shot that bounces an object ball off another into the pocket, but often accidental, knocking a ball off line.
In more detail
Before every shot, trace the cue ball and object ball paths for possible kisses. A 'double kiss' happens when a ball near the rail is hit full and bounces back into the cue ball.
People also ask
How do I avoid double kisses?
When the object ball is close to a rail, avoid hitting it full; cut it slightly or use draw so the cue ball leaves the line.
Train it at the table
