Long shot
Also called: Long pot
How do I make long shots in pool?
A long shot is a pot where the cue ball and object ball are far apart, often more than half the table. Aiming errors grow with distance, so long shots expose stroke faults and reward a steady head and full follow-through.
In more detail
Use center ball or slight follow where possible, avoid unnecessary english, and keep a steady eye on the object ball. Long pots are trained, not guessed — measure your rate from fixed positions.
People also ask
Should I hit long shots hard?
Firm enough to keep the cue ball rolling on line, but not so hard you lose accuracy. Medium speed is usually best.
