Rail bridge
How do you bridge on the rail in pool?
A rail bridge uses the rail itself to support the cue when the cue ball is near a cushion. The cue slides along the rail between the thumb and index finger, or through a loop if there is room.
In more detail
Rail shots force you to hit slightly down on the cue ball, which adds swerve with any sidespin. Keep tip height near center, shorten the backswing and stroke smoothly — and practise these, because they appear in nearly every rack.
People also ask
Why do I miss when the cue ball is on the rail?
Elevation adds swerve, and players tend to jab short strokes. Stay on vertical center and keep the follow-through.
