Foul
What counts as a foul in pool?
A foul is any rule violation, and under WPA rules it gives the opponent ball in hand anywhere. Common fouls: scratching, hitting the wrong ball first, no ball reaching a rail after contact, ball off the table, double hits, and touching balls.
In more detail
Many players lose racks to fouls they did not know about. Learn the standard list and check whether your league uses 'all ball fouls' or 'cue ball fouls only' for accidental touches.
