Elevated bridge

Also called: Over-the-ball bridge

How do you shoot over a ball in pool?

An elevated bridge raises the bridge hand onto the fingertips to shoot over a ball that blocks a normal bridge. The cue is tilted down, so stay near vertical center and use a short, smooth stroke to avoid swerve and miscues.

In more detail

Plant the fingertips firmly and make a tall V or a loop. Because the cue points downward, any sidespin causes the cue ball to curve — save english for when you truly need it.

People also ask

Can I touch the blocking ball with my hand?

No — touching any ball with your hand or clothing is a foul. Leave clear space between your fingers and the ball.
