Jump shot
How do you do a jump shot in pool?
A jump shot makes the cue ball leave the cloth and fly over a blocking ball. It is done by elevating the cue and striking down on the cue ball so it bounces off the slate; scooping underneath is a foul.
In more detail
Shorter, lighter jump cues make jumping much easier. Practise with a low-risk setup first, and never jump on a table where the venue prohibits it.
People also ask
Is a jump shot legal?
Yes under WPA rules if struck legally (not scooped). Some leagues and bars ban jumping — always check.
